My favourite sport

“I like table tennis!” this is my answer. When we study English at bow valley college, my classmates always ask me which my favourite sport is? There are three reasons why I like it?
First of all, table tennis is a very popular sport in China. You can see table tennis in the city and country. There are a lot of people who play table tennis. There also are lots of simple tables in schools. When I was a boy, I used to play table tennis at school. So I like it.
Secondly, table tennis is easy to play, a table-dimension 108"*60", a net, a ball and two rackets. Two people using rackets knock down the ball while they stand at the end of the table, keep the ball on the table.
Thirdly, the equipment is easy to make. If you cannot buy the equipments, you can make them by yourself. You make a table use concrete, make a net use bricks, and make two rackets use wood.
If a sport has easy to play, easy to make the equipments and very popular in your country, how could you not like it?

Is spousal abuse a crime?

Spousal abuse is a crime. Family is a centre of the society. A stable family makes a stable society. Spouse abuse makes an unstable family, human right even body is hunted. Spousal abuse in families can take many forms. It may be emotional, physical, verbal, or a combination of any or all of those.
Spousal abuse may be emotional. Spousal abuse may be do something abuse another. For example, I had a neighbour when I was in China. The women who did not care their child used to play overnight. When her husband went to business, she sometimes picked her child up to my home. She said “I will come back soon!” then she disappeared all night. After her husband knew it, she always played almost a week out of home. Her husband could not find her. Her husband‘s was abused. And the child ,too.
Spousal abuse may be physical, spousal abuse hurts their body. For example, the husband was very angry even if he wanted to kill her. He began to strike his wife when he saw her. After a year, they divorced.
Spousal abuse may be verbal, one of them always say something that another does not like. For example, a wife always said: “you are poor that you cannot make money, or you are so lazy that you do not do anything”. She used verbal hurt her husband‘s feeling. After long time, they began to fight.
Spousal abuse causes people who can not continue to work, wanted to kill somebody and made someone stressful. So I think spousal abuse is a crime.

Being an adult student is a hard job

Dear friend
I am glad to receive your letter. You said that being an adult student is a hard job. I agree with you, and I have some experiences share with you. Adult student needs to study more time, needs to do a lot of house work, and needs to make money.
Because we wanted to change our lifestyle, we had emigrated from China two years ago. I have a small family circle: my wife, my son and I. We are all students. Can I say students run in the family? My wife and I study English as a second language. As adult students, we need more time to study. For example, we need to remember lots of vocabulary, grammar and idioms.
Second as adult students, we have to do house work. For example, we have to cook every day, laundry once a week, clean house, go shopping, which spend lots of our time.
Third as adult students, we need money to pay our rent, cable, electrics, and other bills, so we have to work. Which also spend our time!
In my opinion, I think as an adult student is a hard jobs, they must spend lots of time to do a lot of things, thank you. Good luck.
