My Hometown

I came from China. My hometown is an oil city. It located northwest of China. It’s name is kelamayi, It means black oil. It began a city in 1956, because oil was found from there, people built a city. There was a desert before 1956.
My city is a small city in China, it total area is 9500km2, Above sea level is 250-500m. it’s population is 254.560. it’s flower is rose.
It has two mounts in the west, and one mount in the north. Because it built on the desert, the weather is not good.
We have four seasons in a year, summer and winter are long, spring and autumn are very short. It is very dry and hot in summer. Sometime the temperature could be 41 0c. It is very cold in the winter. It has strong windy in the spring and autumn, the temperature is very different in the day and night. We have rarely rains.
We have a man river cross the city. Because the city needs water, we had built a man river in 2001. the river has 329km, which spent four years to bulid it.
We have agriculture now; we have more trees and grass in the city. Our environment became better. Our city became beautiful.

Dysentery

I have never forgotten the illness I got in spring 1982 when we prepared for an earthquake that never happened. We made a tent between two trees in those days. We lived outside over a month. I did not know why I came down with the illness. I had dysentery which I couldn’t control. I felt no power to walk, I couldn’t eat anything, I could bear the pain. When I went to see a doctor, he treated me and gave me some oral medicines and injections. They were effect that I felt up to eating more. And became better and better.

Using idioms

When I studied at Technology College, a classmate had a sweet tooth. She always bought some candies, cakes and fruits. Another classmate learned all the Math’s expressions by heart. They fell head over heels in love. After finished the Technology College, they decided tie and knot and see eye to eye on almost everything. They bought a large house which costs an arm and a leg. Now they sold the house, shake a leg, they became rich men.
There has a big mouth person who heard this story; he is nosey about the couple. I couldn’t tell him anymore, so he had a long face. Finally I told him that I just pulled his leg.

Presentation

I did my presentation which is about territories of Canada today. The territories of Canada are located to north of Canada. It includes Nunavut Territory, Yukon and Northwest. Nunavut is the largest and newest of the territories of Canada, it was separated officially from the vast Northwest Territories on April 1, 1999. In the Yukon, there are eight different language groups of which seven are Athapaskan. Northwest Territory in 1870 became Canada's first territory. The three territories are all in the Arctic Circle. They converge at the North Pole.
